I didn't just choose Carlsbad. Carlsbad chose me.

ABOUT · CARLSBAD ON THE MOVE

I was born in Encinitas and I've lived in North County my entire life. Carlsbad has always been home — and after all these years, I still get that feeling when I drive down the coast.

That mix of old surf town nostalgia and modern energy that makes this place unlike anywhere else in San Diego.

What I love about this place

Carlsbad still has soul. It hasn't lost that laid-back, surf town vibe that made North County special to begin with — but it's also evolved into something genuinely world-class. Best beaches. Beautiful family neighborhoods. Well-managed city. Top-rated schools. And enough to do, eat, and explore that you never run out of reasons to stay.

I currently live in Olde Carlsbad — and yes, I walk the seawall, hit the farmers market on Wednesdays, and I've been to the Carlsbad Village Faire more times than I can count. I surf. I love the music in the village. And I have two dogs who have very strong opinions about which beach access points are the best.

(For the record — Ocean Street at Beech Avenue. The locals know.)

My favorite local spots

The places I actually go.

  • Gregorio's Italian — literally next door to my office and exactly what a neighborhood restaurant should be. Village Kitchen & Pie Shoppe for home cooking done right. Nick's and Le Papagayo when the occasion calls for it.

  • Lofty Coffee, Baba Coffee, and Revolution Roasters. All village staples. All worth the trip. Ask me which one to hit depending on your vibe.

  • Tamarack State Beach, the seawall walk, the Carlsbad campgrounds, and Carrillo Ranch for a reminder that this city has real history. The flower fields in spring — obviously.

  • Wednesday farmers market, music in the village, the Carlsbad Village Faire twice a year. My office is right in the heart of it — the energy here is the best part of my workday.

What most people get wrong about Carlsbad

They think it's one place. It's not. Carlsbad spans four zip codes — and each one offers something completely different. You could live here for years and still be discovering new pockets.

92008 — Carlsbad Village The heartbeat. Historic downtown energy, walkable streets, local restaurants, the farmers market, ocean access.

92009 — La Costa World-class resorts, championship golf, top schools, family communities with room to breathe.

92010 — Calavera Hills Hiking trails, open space, newer developments, great value for North County.

92011 — South Carlsbad Beachfront camping, Aviara, Bay Collection, Batiquitos Lagoon. Coastal luxury at its finest.

Oh — and I sell real estate here too

11+ years in real estate. 30 years in sales and marketing. My office is in Carlsbad Village — right next door to Gregorio's, which tells you everything you need to know about my priorities. I specialize in North County coastal communities and I know these neighborhoods the way only a lifelong local can. Not just the market data — the streets, the views, the micro-pockets that add or subtract value in ways a spreadsheet will never show you.

But this site isn't really about that. This site is about Carlsbad — because I genuinely believe that when people understand this city, really understand it, they fall in love with it the same way I did. And when you're ready to make a move here, you'll know who to call.
