Cost of Living — The Coastal Domino Effect

$ Oceanside: Most affordable. Still up and coming. Great opportunity for buyers getting into the coastal market.

$$$ Leucadia / Encinitas: Prices start to jump. Encinitas is the "trendy" place to live right now — and the prices reflect it. (I should know — I was born there.)

Carlsbad Unified serves neighborhoods throughout the city, with nine elementary schools, three middle schools and two comprehensive high schools. Where you live determines your assigned elementary and middle school, while high school students have a selection process between Carlsbad High and Sage Creek.
