Halloween in Carlsbad 2026: Local Treats, Spooky Nights & Family Fun
Carlsbad knows how to get into the Halloween spirit! From trick-or-treating in the Village to coastal light shows and a spooky night out, there are plenty of reasons to put on a costume and head out around town.
Here’s your short list for a festive October.
Costumes, Candy & Family Fun
Start the celebrations at Windmill Food Hall Trunk or Treat on October 23–24. On Halloween day, head to Halloween in the Village for trick-or-treating at participating businesses, or visit The Forum’s Halloween Spooktacular on October 31.
For a bigger family adventure, LEGOLAND’s Brick-or-Treat runs on select dates through November 1, with treats, LEGO monsters and Halloween entertainment. Carlsbad Strawberry Company and Pumpkin Palooza offer more seasonal fun, including pumpkins, attractions and select movie nights.
A Little Glow—or a Bigger Scare
Add The Camp Store’s Halloween light show to your evening plans. Looking for something scarier? Try The Haunted Carwash or the haunted corn maze at Carlsbad Strawberry Company on select nights. Save the bigger scares for older kids and adults!
Halloween Isn’t Just for Kids
Make it a date night with The Nightmare Before Blitzen’s pop-up bar at Omni La Costa, or visit its Haunted Courtyard Spook-easy on October 30–31. For a different way to explore the Village, Carlsbad Food Tours’ Haunted Food Tour pairs local tastings with ghost stories.
Bring Your Four-Legged Friend
The pups get their own Halloween plans: Windmill Food Hall’s Yappy Hour Costume Contest on October 25 and Howl-O-Ween at Pure Project on October 29. Because a dog in a Halloween costume deserves an audience.
Celebrate Día de los Muertos
On October 31, visit Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park for a Día de los Muertos celebration honoring loved ones and traditions in a beautiful historic setting.
Whether you’re here for the candy, the costumes or a spooky cocktail, there’s a little something for everyone in Carlsbad this October.
Check event organizers’ websites for current hours, tickets, reservations and age requirements before heading out.
